The Jazz guitar world lost one of it's most cheerful voices on Sunday March 13th 2011, when guitarist Melvin Sparks passed away. Sparks was known for laying soulful, bluesy, lines over funky organ grooves. His live performances were energetic and uplifiting. Melvin Sparks soulful sounds will certainly be missed by many.
